Virginia February 2016 Bar Exam results released

Virginia has posted their February 2016 bar exam results here. The pass rates are as follows:

Overall pass rate: 57.5%
First time taker pass rate: 65.5%

Highest overall pass rate school: Both George Mason and Washington and Lee with 83% of test takers passing, well done!

These results fall in line with a typical February 2016 administration of the VA bar exam. Waiting for DC next week or two hopefully.

Why do you suspect that it will be next week? I’m not saying that you’re incorrect, but just wonder what leads you to believe that. In four of the last five years, DC has released February results sometime during the ninth week following the exam. This year, that would have been last week; the week beginning April 25th. Why do you believe that they will instead not release results until the 11th week following the exam? Thanks.

Past results are not an indication of future performance, especially in the case of the DC bar. I always said “Early May” and felt they would not be able to get everything put together until this week at the very earliest. If I hear any updates I’ll let everyone know ASAP.

Will do. I actually suspect results will be out this week but I don’t want to get everyone’s hopes up. The graders are finished and the Committee is simply compiling the results/pass list which usually only takes a few days so it should be done this week, but again, don’t hold your breath.

Hi Dwight:

Any idea whether the DC bar is taking the disruptions during the exam into consideration when grading? I know several people complained, but I’ve yet to hear what (if any) measures they’re taking to make up for the issues.
