DC Bar Exam July 2012 results are out

The results for the July 2012 Washington DC Bar Exam have been posted at the courthouse on the Committee’s door. Letters have been mailed to all test takers. The results are also available online here: http://www.dccourts.gov/internet/documents/July-2012-Successful-List-and-Notice-for-Publication.pdf.

Out of 210 applicants, just over half of all test takers passed. Overall pass rate was 52%, with 71% of first time takers passing.

Good luck to everyone, I hope you passed!

It’s amazing how low the DC bar exam pass rate is. I don’t know if it’s foreign applicants, poor studying, etc … but DC (statistically) has one of the lowest pass rates in the country.

I got my pass letter. It came with another letter telling me that the Committee on Admissions is unable to certify my admission because:

The committee is currently reviewing your responses to the applications questions or is awaiting the completion and or receipt of the character and fitness report…

It says not to call and that I will receive a letter in the coming weeks. Is this common? Should I be freaking out?

Same thing happened to me after I passed the Feb 2012 exam. My admission got delayed for 3 months … NCBE will not tell you anything regaridng status of your Character Report, nor will the DC admissions office. It’s pretty much just a waiting game, all you can do is make sure all your documents are submitted timely.
