My roster is now full for the summer 2017 bar exam and do not anticipate filling all waitlisted slots for the July 2017 bar exam. If you have already emailed me I will respond back and let you know if you are on the waitlist and if I will be able to take you on. In DC news, DC results letters started coming in this weekend so if you have not received it yet, it should be today or tomorrow hopefully at the latest.

DC Bar Exam Results for February 2017
The Committee on Admissions posted the February 2017 DC Bar Exam results on Friday. The overall pass rate was a very low 46% with first time test takers doing better but still barely half with a 53% pass rate. 496 total applicants took the exam this past February, showing a continued increase since DC join the UBE program. For those that did not pass, the review of answers will be on June 9th, so be sure and attend. For everyone that did pass, congratulations and be sure and sign up for the mandatory class, details will be in your acceptance letter. Full details and pass list are here.

Looks like the overall pass rate was 53.19% , with first time test takers doing pretty good at 70.71%. Congratulations to George Mason University School of Law grads for having the highest overall pass rate at 92.86% and also for 100% of their first time takers passing. Good job to William and Mary and U. Richmond first time takers as well achieving a 100% pass rate. And of course, congratulations to everyone who passed!
If you did not pass, don’t despair. Take a couple days off and then think about the plan you used to study along with how much you studied. Do you feel you did enough? Maybe too much? Maybe not enough? The Virginia bar exam is one of (if not the most) difficult bars in the country and requires well laid out study strategies.
Now that the dust has settled from the February exam, I am going through all requests for July 2017 bar exam tutoring. Every email I have received has been queued and categorized. I am expecting it to take about 2-3 weeks so if you have contacted me you’ll be getting a response soon. Hope everyone survived the exams and is now enjoying the nice DC area weather. The exams were about as expected, Virginia tested Property, Torts, Virginia and Federal Procedure, Criminal, Wills and UCC2. DC had a memo and Power of Attorney Motion for the MPTs and the MEEs were Contracts, Family law (conflicts), Property, Agency/Partnership, Corporations and Trusts.
Despite the changes the MBE was about the same as always, which is to say it was tough. Civ Pro looked about the same and the balance of questions with the new topics and larger number of experimental questions seemed to blend in pretty well with the older exams, so they didn’t go too crazy from what I can tell. Curious because there are many variants of experimental questions given so I still need to talk to more people about their experiences to see if there were bigger changes that I haven’t heard of yet.
I will post about anticipated results date when I hear more, but figure mid to late April for DC and VA and May 5th for Maryland.
I have filled all of my tutoring slots for the February 2017 bar exam. I still have some slots yet to confirm, so more spots may open up to the people on my wait list, and I have several folks to still get back to, so I will get back to everyone who has emailed me so far by the end of the week either way.
