The February 2015 Washington DC Bar Exam results are posted here on the Committee of Admissions Website. Congratulations to everyone who passed! The overall pass rate was barely a third of all test takers at 37.27%. First time takers did a little bit better but still less than half of them passed, 47.2%. In all, 102 out of 271 people passed this administration of the DC bar exam. It was the first time Civil Procedure was tested on the MBE but that did not seem to be much of a factor as the questions were as expected and the pass rates are in line with previous Winter administrations of the exam. If you did not pass, wait for your results in the mail and go over how you did and then re-assess how you should study/prepare differently for this summer. For everyone who passed, don’t think about anything else and just relax and enjoy the weekend.

Do you know when letters are mailed? Or if they have been mailed already? I tried calling but the guy wasn’t very nice. I just need to know what happened…I waived my mbe and only sat for day 1. This was my first try with DC. 37% is very low but I just want my letter to see if I can possibly request a regrade.

Letters should be received any day. 37% is about normal for DC in February.

Yes. which is why I am anxiously awaiting my official letter. I live out of state so it may take awhile. Hopefully I’m only a few points off going into the regrade.

I thought I was the only one who heard that noise. Truly awful and incredibly distracting. Not too mention the inconsistent timing. What an awful unprofessional testing experience.

I called yesterday, and they said one, letters haven’t been sent, and two, the swearing-in ceremony will be Friday, July 10.

Score letters have indeed been sent out. Be wary of anything they tell you.

I just contacted one of the doc review places that I had previously worked for. They said I would still be JD-only until I get sworn in. July 10 is WAY far away, wtf?

Has anyone received the official letter yet? I find it disturbing that we cannot rely on the information provided by those who are supposed to be in control of this process. I won’t relax until I see the official letter. And I have little faith that my address actually got changed properly, so knowing if anyone has received his/her letter yet would be helpful. Thanks!

I have not received a letter. I called this afternoon, and asked when the ceremony would be. The person responded “I don’t know” *long pause* Like, what? i asked if he could find out, or find someone who does know. He said that they haven’t decided what the date would be because they need approval.

I called again this morning and talked to the guy in charge. Letters went out last Fri (though I’ve still yet to receive mine). Swear-in ceremony is Fri, July 10 at 12:30 pm.

I got my letter on Friday, May 8. It said they were still waiting for my NCBE Character report to be completed, so they couldn’t give me a swearing in date yet.

I also got my email yesterday. I have the same problem with the Character and Fitness report, so I wonder if it is the common practice between DC and NCBE? It would be frustrating that the swearing may be affected by such ineffective communication. What have they been doing with our application. The application was submitted half a year ago. Does anyone know if there has been similar problem in previous years?

I received my pass letter on Saturday, May 9. I am in Louisville, KY. Mine also says they are waiting on the character report from NCBE.

it seems that March MPRE takers are experiencing the same issue.
I hope just a call to update my info would fix the problem since NCBE says that they have transferred my score to the DC court. Im trying to get the person on the phone. will post what happens. -

I received my final letter with all details re swearing in, etc. earlier this week. You may try calling NCBE. They can put you in touch with the person who handled your account and tell you if you have anything outstanding.

For those who took March MPRE,
has any of you successfully submitted your MPRE score to the court that you have sworn-date set?first, i cant believe that march MPRE score is not automatically processed so that me and some of folks had to send the printed scores to the court (which is not official at all!)
second, the court is so freaking retarded that they havent responded whether they got my score or not. not to mention the set date for sworn-in.
am i the only one waiting for it all frustrated.

I called the Committee and finally someone picked up the phone (Thank God!). He said, many candidates have not yet been updated to their system (mostly due to late arrival of Character and Fitness reports), therefore, they can’t have the same swearing date for everyone. They would give us a notice 3-4 weeks before the swearing date so that we can make plans to attend. Apparently, DC organizes swearing in ceremonies once a month so you won’t have to wait too long until the next ceremony (in accordance to the phone conversation). Finger cross!
