With 1 week to go, I hope everyone is in the home stretch… My students are ready to go, and this week we are doubling our study times with a majority of our focus going to MBE subject flash cards and timing on the MBE and MPT. The past two MBE exams have been quite fair and indicative of the new style the NCBE is using. The exam next week should prove to be no different.
I wish everyone the best of luck, and remember that no matter how hard it seems during the exam, you are well prepared and have the ability to pass!

Thanks for keeping your blog up.
May I ask how you got to the exam? Public transportation or car? And if by car, how is the parking and traffic? Thanks.
Anonymous of July 22, 2009 2:03PM – I would definitely recommend taking public transportation, specifically the metro rail. Parking is not close by, and hard to find, and only 2 hours max I believe. Traffic can also be very bad in the morning. So, either take a cab (but risk traffic) or take the metro and relax… :)
Hello, I would like to take the exam.
When I took the exam in Feb 08, I took the Metro (red line to Brookland/CUA stop). To make sure I knew where to go, I did a dry run a couple of weeks before the big day, which was helpful. It is only a couple of blocks from the station to the building.br /Someone I knew taking the exam at the same time drove and was able to get parking in the lot right next to the exam location (time limit did not come into play…although I’m not sure of what the parking charge was). That would have been nice for me since it was raining a bit on one of the exam days and having a private, dry, place to sit and eat lunch would be ideal. I ended up under an umbrella outside. The lunch area (same building as exam, different floor) was packed and loud.
Good luck on the MBE!
Well it’s over now. Pretty fair two days of testing, I think. November will tell the truth.
I’m Anon from the first post (2:03) and actually got a ride in and out both days, but thanks for the advice. I did see that the metro was right there and would have been a great alternative.
Good luck to all who will be waiting for results.
